Half of the boxing ring Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke were supposed to fight in has been stolen.
On Saturday, British boxing stalwart Mike Goodall, Managing Director of Ringcraft Boxing Facilities, took to social media to reveal that his van containing half of the ring had been taken the day before Sunday’s fight, live on talkSPORT.
Goodall posted a picture of another of his vans and said: “Identical sprinter to this stolen early hours of this morning 30/3/24 from hotel car park Canning Town area London.
“Contains half a boxing ring for Sunday night’s Sky Boxing show. Reward for Return.”
This is the show set to be headlined by Wardley vs Clarke.
Viddal Riley vs Mikael Lawal, Ben Whittaker vs Leon Willings, and Florian Marku vs Chris Kongo are also on the card.
While the missing half of the ring has not been recovered, the show will thankfully still go ahead as planned.
After a stressful day for Goodall, he again took to social media on Saturday evening and posted: “Still missing unfortunately, caused us a lot of problems, but we’ve got there in the finish.”
He then added: “Good job I’ve got another ring identical.
“So once we got it to London with a few blood, sweat and tears, all built in The O2, ready to rumble. The show must go on.”
Wardley previously told talkSPORT: “It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks. He [Clarke] has been boxing for a long long time in the amateur scene which moulds you into a way.
“When you come to the pros and need to adjust yourself, it is a tall task and making adjustments to face someone like me is a tall, tall order.
“Different opponents ask for different things, there may be things in there you haven’t seen in the past. I think he’ll be relatively cautious.
“I don’t think he will be overly eager to jump into things, he knows I’m dangerous and sharp. Especially in the early rounds when I’m fresh and sharp.
“I can pull a big punch out of anywhere anytime in the fight, but early on it is a dangerous place for you to be lunging in and making mistakes.”
