Daniel Dubois’s huge right hand he landed on Anthony Joshua left his rival in a seriously uncompromising position.
Dubois produced a stunning upset at Wembley Stadium in front of 98,000 fans, dropping AJ four times en route to a sensational fifth round KO win.
In the opening stanza, ‘Dynamite’ unloaded exactly that crushing Joshua with a huge overhand right that rattled flush on the chin of his heavyweight rival.
It sent the heavyweight crouching to a knee tumbling on the canvas, a huge shot which altered the course of the fight.
Since the showdown ended, an image has emerged of the incredible knockdown punch which left Joshua’s face seriously disfigured.
It shows quite how much shot the power carried, and how clean it landed and left no wonder as to why Joshua was knocked down.
The picture also resembled that of Joshua’s famous uppercut which saw the former champion beat Wladimir Klitschko at the same venue in 2017.
Images then show quite how staggered the favourite was, as he was left stumbling when regaining his feet.
He managed to just about beat the ten count, with the bell then sounding for the end of the round.
Unfortunately he was never really able to recover and was dropped twice more before the conclusive period.
The pair then exchanged right hands in the fifth, and another thumping shot sent Joshua crashing face first to the canvas.
It was the final straw for the British icon, with the fight waved off and Dubois left celebrating a phenomenal KO.
The 26-year-old’s next move currently remains unclear, but he has called for a potential rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk will first meet Tyson Fury in a huge rematch on December 21, which could decide Dubois’ next opponent.
But Eddie Hearn has claimed Joshua could yet pursue a sequel via a contracted clause despite the nature of the defeat.
He said: “It was the first round, after that, he was fighting on heart and desire.
“I’m so proud because he never gave up, his legs were deceiving him and he kept on trying.
“When you are in there with a massive puncher this is what can happen.
“He never stopped trying to get up, even when he couldn’t get up.
“Daniel deserves credit, he’s a real-world champion. Congratulations to him.
“I’m sure he’ll exercise that rematch clause, it’s a given, it’s a dangerous fight because he’s growing in confidence all the time but he’ll believe he can beat him.”
