Russell Crowe and Joe Rogan believe Jake Paul could still be knocked out by Mike Tyson.
The heavyweight legend will return at the age of 58 to face influencer Paul in a full professional bout on November 15, despite concerns over his physical condition.
Tyson possessed ferocious power and aggression in his boxing heyday, which saw him become notorious as one of the greatest heavyweight KO artists of all-time.
And on the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the pair explained why despite his age, his power could be a real threat in 2024,
Rogan began: “58 is 58, no matter what you’re taking and what they’re doing for you.
“You’re still 58. But, 58-year-old Mike Tyson is not 50-year-old Mike Jones that lives down the street, it’s a different kind of human being. He can still knock your head into another dimension if he can catch you.
“The thing is, can he catch a 28-year-old guy who’s at the top of his career who is winning legitimate boxing matches? I mean, he’s beating former UFC world champions like Tyron Woodley.
“Jake had that very good fight with Tommy Fury who’s a legitimate boxer, that was a very good fight.
“And he just beat up Mike Perry who was a bare knuckle champion, he’s a real fighter, he can fight and if Mike Tyson and him are fighting and Mike can’t catch him? Then it’s hard to tell.”
Crowe then responded, with his own account of meeting Tyson to support his point: “The thing is, I was quite enjoying the second phase of Mike’s life.
“I was terrified of him as a boxer. He was terrifying. Even when I met him backstage at a stadium one time at a fight, I was like ‘I’m still terrified of you’.
“What bothers me with this whole thing is that he’s got to kind of slide back into that warrior and I’m just not sure that he needed to do it.
“I just hope for the both of them that it transcends the circus type atmosphere atmosphere, it’s a legit fight and nobody gets hurt.
“Me at 60 vs me at 28, but it’s Mike Tyson so it’s very different.”
Tyson has declared he will be in fighting shape for later this year, despite having already had medical issues which delayed the fight.
He has regularly posted clips of training footage to prove his shape, which is clear he carries power still in short bursts.
Paul is in his physical peak, and will be the favourite against the aged veteran despite the experience gap.
But ‘Iron Mike’ insists he will stop the fight inside the distance and silence the critics.
I’m very prepared to knock out Jake Paul. I’m very prepared,” he said.
“I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I feel good. I’m just ready. I’m just ready.
“I’m going to do my talk and I’m going to talk my s**t, but I’m ready to fight.
“Hey, listen, soon as I catch this guy, it’s over. Jake Paul is going to be running around, but as soon as I catch this guy, it’s going to be totally over.”
