Reece James called Cole Palmer one of the best players in the world, but the Chelsea star was not so sure.
Palmer grabbed another assist as his debut season with the Blues just keeps getting better and better.
He had a helping hand in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The 22-year-old now has 21 goals and ten assists in the Premier League this season following his transfer from Man City.
Palmer has undoubtedly been one of the signings of the season and is up for a host of awards, including player and young player of the year.
He has even run Erling Haaland close for the Golden Boot, before the City striker smashed in four against Wolves.
Blues captain James lavished praise on his teammate following the victory over Forest.
“Cole is one of the best in the world, I think personally,” James said.
“You’ve seen what he can do when he gets his chance. At Man City he probably didn’t play as much as he wanted. He came here and took the opportunity with both hands.”
Palmer was a little taken aback by those comments and replied: “I wouldn’t go that far, but obviously it’s nice to hear.
“I’m just trying to keep my feet on the ground, taking it as it comes. It’s all new to me you know, my first season properly playing in the league.
“But to come to Chelsea and come to a group of lads who have welcomed me like this, it’s been a pleasure.”
The win over Forest put the Blues level on points with sixth place Newcastle on 57 points.
Their final two games see them play Brighton and then Bournemouth.
