Yuka Sakazaki was injured on AEW Rampage.
During her match against Emi Sakura on Saturday’s show, Sakazaki attempted a springboard move on the top rope but tumbled awkwardly to the outside. She came up limping and was favoring her leg throughout the remainder of the match.
“Yuka Sakazaki’s leg injury in her bout last night in Peoria, IL with Emi Sakura was legit,” writes our own Dave Meltzer. “As of this morning, the exact injury and its ramifications weren’t clear. She gutted her way through the match but the injury did change things.”
Sakazaki won the match with a suplex off the ropes at 9 minutes 30 seconds.
Sakazaki was announced as having graduated from Tokyo Joshi Pro last May as she planned to relocate to the United States in 2024. She made her AEW return at the April 3 Collision, defeating Trish Adora in her first match back. She also wrestled Leila Grey on Wednesday’s ROH tapings in Indianapolis. The match will air on a future episode of ROH on HonorClub.
