Wolves vs Crystal Palace predictions
Crystal Palace are a club reborn.
Earlier this season, there was open dissent on the terraces as supporters took aim at what they deemed to be a lack of ambition on and off the pitch. A few months later and a sense of optimism has returned to Selhurst Park.
Most of the credit for the turnaround is owed to Oliver Glasner, who replaced Roy Hodgson at the helm in February.
Hodgson’s status as a Palace legend is assured but things had gone stale under the septuagenarian in his second spell in charge of his boyhood side.
It took Glasner a few weeks to get his ideas across to the players he inherited, but Palace are now flying.
In the Austrian’s short time at the club, the Eagles have delivered some of their most impressive performances since promotion to the Premier League in 2013.
The first result that really made people sit up and take notice was last month’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. The next example was a 5-2 thrashing of West Ham United in which Palace blew their opponents away inside the first half an hour.
On Monday night, Glasner’s side went one step further. Their 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United will live long in the memories of every Palace fan who witnessed it.
The scoreline owed as much to United’s astonishing ineptitude as Palace’s brilliance, yet it was impossible to not be impressed by the home team’s efforts. They were superior to the 20-time English champions in every single area of the pitch – and in the dugouts too.
Palace are now looking to finish as high up the Premier League table as possible. They would overtake Wolverhampton Wanderers with a victory this weekend, but the top half will almost certainly prove out of reach.
That might not be the case next season, though.
Wolves vs Crystal Palace betting tips
Wolverhampton Wanderers host Crystal Palace in their final home game of the Premier League season.
Crystal Palace to win – 6/4 (Betfred)
Wolves are still above Crystal Palace in the Premier League standings for now, but unlike their upcoming opponents they are limping over the finish line.
To an extent that is understandable. Wolves were safe from relegation a while back; at the time of the March international break, they were in the top half of the table. Gary O’Neil has also been without several players through injury in recent weeks.
Whatever the reasons, Wolves and Crystal Palace head into the weekend in contrasting form.

Whereas the former have only won one of their last eight matches, the latter have taken 13 points from the last 15 on offer – a better record than even league leaders Arsenal over the same period.
Palace are playing with a huge amount of confidence right now and they have got some key players fit again, most notably Ebere Eze, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi.
The momentum is with the Eagles and we fancy their chances of completing the double over Wolves this weekend.

Over 2.5 goals – 4/5 (Bet MGM)
Talking of injuries, O’Neil will be relieved that each of Hwang Hee-chan, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto – his first-choice front three for much of the season – should be fit for the weekend.
Neto is the one remaining doubt but the Portugal international returned to full training last week and is likely to be involved in some capacity here.
Even though victories have proved elusive of late, Wolves have still managed to score in five of their last seven games.
As for Crystal Palace, they cannot stop scoring. Glasner’s team have put the ball in the back of the net 12 times in their last four outings, more than anyone but Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester City.
With both teams safe from the threat of relegation, this promises to be an open and enjoyable encounter in the West Midlands.

Michael Olise to score any time – 3/1 (bet365)
Crystal Palace will be looking to add to their squad in the summer, but Glasner will be concerned about losing at least one of Eze, Olise or Guehi.
Of the two attacking players, Olise is the more likely to depart since the new contract he signed last year is reported to contain a release clause.
The France Under-21 international has scored nine goals and provided four assists, despite only playing for 1099 minutes due to recurrent hamstring issues.
Olise struck twice against Manchester United, one of the clubs rumoured to be considering a bid in the summer transfer market.
The 22-year-old will now turn his attention to Wolves, whose wing-back system could afford him plenty of space in the channels.
Olise is in red-hot form right now and this price looks like excellent value given his quality in the final third.
