Substitute goalkeeper Stefan Ortega made a crucial save with the game at 1-0 to deny Heung-min Son in a one-on-one before Erling Haaland scored a late penalty to seal all three points.

The Citizens are likely to be without Ederson, who was withdrawn with a concussion against Tottenham after a sickening clash with Cristian Romero.

That means Ortega will again deputise in goal, while Kevin De Bruyne also came off after being stood on by Pape Matar Sarr.

But the club’s Belgian talisman revealed he should be fine to play.

Meanwhile, West Ham are without City loanee Kalvin Phillips, who is injured but is otherwise ineligible to play against his parent club.
