Jadon Sancho is set for a fresh start at Manchester United after returning to first-team training.
The winger has held talks with Erik ten Hag over his future, with the pair agreeing to draw a line under their disagreement and move forward.
As a result, Sancho is back in the first-team fold at Old Trafford, has trained at Carrington and is available for the club’s pre-season matches.
While he won’t travel to Norway for Monday’s friendly with Rosenberg, he will be available to feature in their pre-season campaign moving forward.
It’s the first time that the 24-year-old has trained with the Red Devils in ten months since he fell out with Ten Hag.
Since then, Sancho headed on loan to Borussia Dortmund and helped them all the way to the Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid at Wembley.
Sancho was then given an extended break due to his participation in that game, before returning to United’s training ground this week to begin his pre-season preparations.
Man United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund three years ago in the summer of 2021 for a fee of £73million.
In that time he has scored 12 goals in 82 appearances, offering six assists as well.
While his future at the club seemed uncertain at best, he will now be keen to reignite his career in the Premier League.
Speaking to talkSPORT in May, Rio Ferdinand said that it was about time that Sancho was given more respect.
The ex-England international said: “A lot has been said about him, a lot of it negative, and I think it’s about time people really give him a little bit of credit.
“Because I think it’s been a really difficult period for him. He’s been criticised, rightly or wrongly.
“The situation that happened between him and the manager, we can debate who was right and who was wrong.
“But he has been criticised heavily, confidence has been very low, he went into a period of isolation in terms of training away from the squad.
“Now he’s gone away to Dortmund to rebuild himself, as a footballer, as a human being, and he has come out the other side.
“Whether he wins the Champions League or not, what he’s achieved in this short little period of time has to be looked at and you go, ‘You know what? This kid’s got character’.
“He’s got personality, he’s built of the right stuff and I think that’s where he needs credit.”
