Bare-knuckle boxing continues to attract some of the toughest fighters on the planet.
Trevor Bozniak suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the opening seconds of his fight at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton, Canada, on Saturday night.
‘The Beast’ and his opponent, Kayden Giroux, met in the middle of the ring and immediately started hurling big bombs at each other.
Giroux got the better of the wild exchange and Bozniak dropped to the floor.
The Canadian heavyweight fell awkwardly over his ankle, and it appeared to break, although you wouldn’t think so from his reaction to the catastrophic injury.
“Bozniak, his ankle just snapped,” one of the concerned commentators said.
He added: “I think it was just dislocated, but I’m not sure he’s going to be able to fight.”
Despite the fact his ankle was bending the wrong way, Bozniak got back to his feet and appeared to want to carry on fighting with his 20-year-old rival.
Remarkably, he looked fairly steady on his feet after apparently popping his ankle back into place – but referee Dan Miragliotta refused to let him continue.
The fight was waved off after just 10 seconds, but Bozniak was in no fit state to continue after just five seconds in the ring with Giroux
Footage of the grim injury at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship [BKFC] Edmonton quickly went viral and fans were blown away by Bozniak’s blasé reaction.
One person tweeted: “That’s insane.”
Another said: “That dude didn’t even wince. I have no clue how he just put it back and was like, “I’m good.””
A third person added: “How tf is he walking on that.”
Someone else joked: “Walked it off.”
This is not the first time a fighter has broken their ankle at a BKFC show.
In February 2023, OnlyFans star Charisa Sigala suffered an even worse injury when she was dropped in the opening moments of her fight against Jayme Hinshaw.
Sickening footage shows Sigala snapping her ankle back into place, but when she tried to stand up, she collapsed to the floor in agony.
Sigala spent 18 months on the sidelines before returning to action in July.
Bozniak will be hoping he’ll be able to recover much quicker than that, but anyone who has seen his horrific fight footage will suggest it’s unlikely.
