Rolly Romero appeared to be somewhat dazed after giving a bizarre interview after being stopped by Isaac Cruz.
Cruz won the WBA light-welterweight title against Romero in a largely one-sided affair on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The Mexican stopped his opponent in the eighth round, though Rolly did well to last as long as he did as he suffered some damage in the opening rounds.
Moments after the referee stopped the contest, interviewers spoke to Romero in the ring.
But the 29-year-old appeared to be somewhat dazed as he gave a bizarre interview.
After being asked what went wrong in the fight, Romero did not reply for a few seconds leaving an awkward silence.
Eventually, he grabbed the mic and said: “I want to tell everybody thanks for coming out.
“Honestly, happy Easter everybody. Just like Jesus was resurrected, I’ll be back.
“I’d like to wish everybody a happy Easter and thank you for supporting and following me.”
Fans on social media expressed their worry for the Vegas-born fighter, who was also slurring his words.
One fan replied: “Should probably take him in asap. Doesn’t look good. Praying for a speedy recovery Rolly.”
Another wrote: “Man thats sad but bro got heart.”
And a third posted: “Interviewing a fighter that has been KO’d is wrong.”
The fight was ended by Cruz in the eighth round shortly after doctors had given Romero the all-clear to return to the ring after a brutal seventh round.
Just moments after the bell rang, Pitbull pounced on his opponent and lined up a succession of hooks before the referee jumped in.
It had been a dominating display from Cruz, who has now gone 26–2–1 in his career, including a defeat to Gervonta Davis.
