UFC fans were left disappointed after Drake’s latest bet which could see him win over $1million if it comes off.
The Canadian singer took to Instagram to show off his latest massive bet, whacking $675,000 (£541,860) on Alex Pereira to beat Jamahal Hill tonight at UFC 300.
If the bet comes off, Drake will collect huge winnings of $1,194,750 (£959,099) and fans could not believe their eyes.
Captioning the post, Drake wrote: “Betting on this until somebody sets up a cage match between me and Eddie.”
But Drake’s record at the bookies is not great, to say the least.
There have even been accusations that he ‘curses’ athletes after being seen with them.
It even led to AS Roma joking on social media that they had banned their players from any pictures with the ‘One Dance’ singer.
Pereira is popular with UFC fans and some were left dismayed that Drake had bet on their man.
One X user posted: “God damn it man.”
Another said: “Drake betting on Pereira… It’s over. The Drake curse will hit once again.”
Pereira is looking to defend his light heavyweight title in the UFC after winning the vacant belt at UFC 295 when he beat Jiri Prochazka.
Hill was the fighter who vacated the belt after beating Glover Teixeira in Brazil in January 2023 but injury forced him to give up the title.
It makes for a great fight while Pereira was hardly impressed despite UFC chief Dana White’s recent announcement on new bonuses.
Drake is no stranger to mammoth bids in combat sports, recently losing nearly £500,000 after lumping on Francis Ngannou to beat Anthony Joshua earlier this year.
And he is looking to win back his losses – with a wedge on change – on Saturday night at UFC 300.
