Drake won over $1 million betting on the UFC 300 main event.
On Saturday morning, the Canadian rapper took to Instagram to show off his latest massive bet, whacking $675,000 (£541,860) on Alex Pereira to beat Jamahal Hill tonight at UFC 300.
Later that evening, Pereira survived a low blow to score a brutal knockout win and defend his light heavyweight belt at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Drake collected $1,194,750 (£959,099) and fans could not believe it.
One person tweeted: “Not even Drake could stop Pereira.”
Another wrote: “POATAN BEAT THE DRAKE CURSE.”
Someone else said: “The Drake curse has been lifted. Thanks to Poatan.”
A fourth person commented: “Pereira so good he beat the Drake curse.”
As you may have noticed, some fans think Drake is a jinx because his record at the bookies is not great.
There have even been accusations that he ‘curses’ athletes after being seen with them.
It even led to AS Roma joking on social media that they had banned their players from any pictures with the ‘One Dance’ singer.
Pereira is popular with UFC fans and some were left dismayed that Drake had bet on their man.
One X user posted: “God damn it man.”
Another said: “Drake betting on Pereira… It’s over. The Drake curse will hit once again.”
Drake is no stranger to mammoth bets in combat sports, recently losing nearly £500,000 after lumping on Francis Ngannou to beat Anthony Joshua earlier this year.
Maybe his luck has changed after winning big at UFC 300.
