Liverpool’s heavy Europa League defeat to Atalanta has led to Jamie Carragher seemingly offer a free trip to Dublin.
The Reds were beaten 3-0 by the Italian outfit in the first leg of their quarter-final tie to raise doubts over reaching the final in the Irish capital.
And it’s something that CBS Sports Golazo presenter Kate Abdo was keen to bring up on their latest show, saying Carragher was ‘begging’ to work in Dublin.
“Do you still want to be over there, do you still want to work for CBS for the final of the Europa League?” she asked.
But Carragher wittily replied: “It’s funny you should say that because, I mean with the relationship between the Irish and the Americans, there’s a great bond there.
“For how much love we’ve had on this show from people watching in America, there’s two nights in Dublin there if anyone wants them, and it’s on me! And maybe a couple of tickets, we’ll see.”

Micah Richards then asked if he wasn’t going to Dublin now, to which Carragher laughed and said: “It doesn’t look like it, no.”
Abdo joked at Carragher’s expense but she wasn’t off the hook as Thierry Henry decided to get his own revenge for a previous dig.
She hinted at Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa that saw them fail to go back to the top of the Premier League but as a Manchester United fan, Henry made fun of her side’s Champions League hopes.
He asked former Manchester City man Richards and Liverpool legend Carragher if their sides will be in the competition next season.
“Arsenal will be in the Champions League, will Man United?” he asked as the club sit seventh and 13 points off the top four.
Abdo then tried to defend her club, hinting that it’s an off-season, but Carragher returned and cheekily questioned: “Do we cover the Conference League?”
His response generated laughs from everyone on the panel, before he then further added: “Do we do Thursday nights?”
“I don’t believe it’s in the contract,” Abdo responded, with the CBS Sports Golazo team enjoying another night of banter.
Liverpool could certainly turn the tie around against Atalanta in the second leg on Thursday, live on talkSPORT, given previous memorable comebacks in Europe.
But United on the other hand, their chances of finishing in the top four look very slim, so Abdo may well end up watching them on Thursday nights next season.
