The Euro 2024 quarter-finals are upon us and Portugal will take on France in a mouthwatering clash tonight, live on talkSPORT.
Cristiano Ronaldo overcame tears during his country’s last-16 tie against Slovenia to score during their penalty shootout victory.
The icon couldn’t prevent his emotions from taking over after he missed a spot-kick in extra-time before goalkeeper Diogo Costa stepped up to help send Selecao through.
That win set up an incredible final-eight meeting with Les Bleus who sent Belgium home thanks to an own goal from Jan Vertonghen.
Kylian Mbappe will now meet Ronaldo and co in a monumental match with a place in the semi-finals against either Germany or Spain on the line.

Portugal vs France: Ronaldo’s rollercoaster
It was a rollercoaster night for Ronaldo on Monday against Slovenia.
After missing a crucial penalty in extra time, he was in floods of tears and would have been thinking that he had let his country down.
However, following some support from his teammates to lift him again, the legend got away with it and stepped up first in the shootout around 20 minutes later.
Ronaldo was never going to miss again and he tucked his spot-kick into the back of the net to set Portugal up for a huge win in the end.
After the game, he explained why he was crying and said: “Even the strongest people have their days, I was down and I was sad because the team needed me.
“Initial sadness and joy at the end, that’s what football brings, inexplicable moments, from the eighth minute to the 80th, that’s what happens.
“I could have given the national team the advantage, but I didn’t manage it, Oblak saved, I didn’t miss once during the year, and when I needed it most Oblak saved.
“It’s a feeling of sadness and joy at the same time, but the most important thing is progressing, the team deserved it.”

Portugal vs France: What has been said?
This quarter-final could be Ronaldo’s last ever game at the Euros after he confirmed this will be his last appearance in this tournament.
“Without a doubt, it’s the last Euro [for me], of course it is,” he said.
“But I’m not emotional about that. I’m moved by everything that football entails, by the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm I see in the fans, having my family here, people’s passion.
“It’s not about leaving the world of football. What else is there for me to do or win?”
