Michael Bisping is adamant UFC 300 beats any other fight card in sport history.
The eagerly-awaited third UFC centenary event takes place on Saturday night at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and features a stacked card of champions and former division kings.
There will be ten former champions and two current ones headlining the landmark PPV event and former middleweight champ-turned-commentator Bisping told talkSPORT’s MMA channel just how huge it is.
“Show me a boxing card that has had this many champions on it from top to bottom,” he said.
“The first one – Cody Garbrandt against Deiveson Figueiredo will be ridiculous. They are all compelling and world class after that, too.
“They are big popular names. Fans watching at home can look and resonate straight away.
“That’s often the thing. Take Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou, which everyone was excited for. But a lot of people looked at the under-card or prelims and had no idea who they are. Yes, they’ll watch them to pass the time and have a beer or make a call.
“However, these fights at UFC 300 from prelims onwards have fans glued to the screen because they know their background and history.”
Bisping isn’t the only fan-favourite fighter looking forward to the landmark MMA event.
Former champ-champ Conor McGregor also can’t wait for UFC 300 and made a ‘guarantee’ ahead of Saturday night’s showdown.
“I guarantee now we see ABSOLUTE FIREWORKS at @ufc 300!” The Notorious posted on X.
“Can’t wait!! This Saturday night on @espn PPV.”
The legendary Irish fighter was rumoured to be making an appearance at the UFC 300 press conference on Thursday but failed to make a cameo.
Instead, he tweeted in praise of Dana White’s decision to agree to a ‘life-changing’ decision for all fighters involved on the card.
UFC 300 promises to be one of the greatest nights in mixed martial arts history and features an absolutely card stacked with mouth-watering matchups from top to bottom.
Alex Pereira is headlining the event and will defend his light-heavyweight title against Jamahal Hill.
Elsewhere, strawweight champion Zhang Weili will face Yan Xiaonan while Justin Gaethje takes on Max Holloway in a 155lbs BMF battle for the ages.
Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan and Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage round out the rest of the main card which follows the equally-stacked prelims and early prelims.
Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic, Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling and Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison are the pick of the bunch on the preliminary card.
Those bouts come after the likes of Deiveson Figueiredo, Cody Garbrandt, Bobby Green, Jessica Andrade and a UFC 100 and UFC 200 icon throw down on the early prelims.
The preliminary rounds are set to get underway at 11pm (BST).
The main card will then be around 1am, with the main event starting between 4 and 5am.
