Leicester celebrated their Premier League promotion in style by recreating their famous Jamie Vardy party scenes from eight years ago.
Leicester stars appeared to be celebrating at one of their houses where they had Leeds’ match on television as they were thrashed 4-0 by QPR at Loftus Road.
And in a video posted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the midfielder showed the full-time result as the whistle went and the resulting celebrations in a living room full of frantic Foxes.
The crushing defeat of Leeds meant that Leicester were promoted as they cannot finish outside the top two – seeing them return to the top tier at the first time of asking.
The jubilant scenes shown by Dewsbury-Hall largely resembled similar celebrations that occurred in 2016 when Leicester were crowned Premier League champions against all odds.
On that occasion, it was a different west London club that assured them glory when Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham, a match which was watched by the Leicester team in Jamie Vardy’s house and where a party broke out after their league title was confirmed.
While it was not possible to decipher whether Vardy was the host once again on Friday night, the striker is still part of the side and would have been celebrating alongside his teammates.
Vardy celebrated with a video call from Dennis Wise who invited the forward to visit him with Italian side Como’s last game of the season.
The Leicester X account was also in party-mode, sharing several posts from their players on what was a night to remember for the King Power Stadium outfit.
Among them include summer signing Stephy Mavididi, who wrote: “Isit still to early? PREMIER LEAGUE BABY.”
Dewsbury-Hall had time to post: “Right… who’s out in Leicester tonight?”
And Wilfried Ndidi said: “Congratulations to me, the boys, the staff the club and the amazing fans.. 2 more to go!!! We back!!”
Leicester also poked a little fun at Leeds, referencing the song from the Kaiser Chiefs from the Yorkshire city by writing: “I Predict A Riot.”
It was only a matter of time until famous Leicester fan and former Foxes star Gary Lineker got involved, tweeting: “Back in the big time. Come on you Foxes, @LCFC.”
Leicester can no longer drop out of the top two but Ipswich Town could still overtake them to win the Championship despite being lower than Leeds.
The Whites have one match left in the Championship whereas Ipswich have three and are just a point behind them.
Enzo Maresca’s men, meanwhile, will become champions if they win their two remaining games.
Leicester are next in action on Monday night against Preston North End at Deepdale – a clash that is exclusively live on talkSPORT 2- before their final match of the season at home where they face Blackburn Rovers.
It means that no matter the result against the Lancashire outfit, there will be more scenes of celebration in Leicester on the final day – but considerably more if they can bag the title.
