Zurich Classic 2024: Format
The Zurich Classic is a team stroke play event and sees pairs battle it out over four rounds in two different formats.
The field will compete in best ball (fourball) rounds on the first and third days and then alternate shot (foursome) for the second and fourth rounds.
There will be a cut after Friday’s second round is complete and 33 teams, plus ties, will progress to the weekend.
It is traditionally a high-scoring affair given that each team effectively has two chances on the two best ball rounds.

Zurich Classic 2024: What has been said?
McIlroy has revealed that he and Lowry decided to play while having lunch together.
He told GOLF.com: “I asked him [to play].
“You know it was actually, we had this really drunken lunch after the Ryder Cup last year, and I said after, ‘You wanna play the Zurich together?’
“And we were like, yeah, let’s do it.”
