WWE NXT star Arianna Grace has questioned the decision to crown the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion in a ladder match.
It was previously announced that the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion will be determined in a six-woman ladder match at the June 9 Battleground event.
Ahead of this match, NXT showed footage from a Performance Center combine, with top performers from the combine selected for qualifying matches.
One star who wasn’t featured in these combine segment clips was Arianna Grace, who has now confirmed that she didn’t compete in the combine.
Grace has taken to Twitter to note that she didn’t take part as the idea of competing in a ladder match is insane to her.
Arianna Grace explained:
And NO, I did not do the combine because a LADDER MATCH is insanity!!! We could decide who is CROWNED the champion in another way! A peaceful way! UGH!!!!!
Arianna Grace was in action on the May 7 edition of NXT, losing to Michin (Mia Yim) in singles action.
12 stars from the combine were selected for qualifying matches ahead of next month’s NXT Women’s North American Championship ladder match.
