Former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has commented on his return to the ring, following his first WWE match in five months.
Lee returned to NXT TV during last week’s Spring Breakin’ special, confronting the current North American Champion Oba Femi.
The returning star was in action on Tuesday’s (May 7) edition of NXT, defeating Josh Briggs in singles action.
This marked Lee’s first match since November, with the star stepping away from the ring to recover from a serious back injury.
Wes Lee has taken to Twitter to share a video WWE posted about his return, which you can watch below.
Feeling that he’s back where he’s supposed to be, Lee wrote:
Home again..🙌🏽
It was recently reported that there was a possibility that Lee would’ve had to retire due to his previous back injury.
Following his return match, Lee was involved in a brawl with Briggs and Ivar. Oba Femi notably watched this post-match brawl, fuelling speculation about a potential multi-man North American Title bout.
Another NXT star has explained why they weren’t involved in qualifiers for another upcoming multi-person title match, which you can read more about right here.
