Last night’s Raw ended with Bobby Lashley being “fired” by Adam Pearce.
The in-storyline firing happened after Lashley faced Seth Rollins in a United States title number one contender’s match. Lashley thought he had the match won following a spear on Rollins, but the referee was slow to make the count after trying to avoid getting knocked down when Lashley had Rollins in The Hurt Lock. Rollins then capitalized on Lashley being distracted. When Lashley went for another spear, Rollins reversed it into a Pedigree to get the win.
Lashley was upset with the referee and confronted him after the match. The ref tried to walk away, but Lashley shoved him into the corner. Lashley then knocked down another referee who tried to intervene.
Pearce attempted to speak with Lashley, but Lashley shoved him away. An angry Pearce then told Lashley that he’s fired.
The firing comes one week after Pearce warned Lashley about putting his hands on officials. Lashley had accidentally speared a producer last week during a brawl with Rollins.
A Raw Women’s Championship number one contender’s match also took place last night. Alexa Bliss defeated Bayley to get the next shot at Bianca Belair’s title.
There was a moment after the Bliss vs. Bayley match where Bliss and Belair embraced. But Bray Wyatt’s logo appeared on the video screen and Bliss went to hit Sister Abigail on Belair. Bliss snapped out of it before hitting the move and acted like she didn’t know what just happened.
