Jake Paul and KSI will look to finally settle their bitter long-running feud inside a boxing ring this year.
The two YouTube sensations have been on a collision course for half a decade as the two poster boys for the explosion of social media boxing.
Joe Weller and Theo Baker’s matchup in a gym in August 2017 was the first of the influencer boxing to make waves on these shores.
But it wasn’t until KSI fought YouTube rival Weller months later in February 2018 for a white collar bout that the sport began to grow.
The 29-year-old stopped Weller in the third round of their contest and then called-out American YouTube brothers Jake and Logan Paul.
It was older brother Logan who accepted the challenge, with Jake instead beating KSI’s younger brother Deji on the same card.
KSI – who drew to Logan in their first meeting before emerging victorious in the professional ranks for the rematch – has since gone into business with the now-WWE star.
Yet the rivalry with Jake Paul has only festered following years of social media barbs and the pair may finally get it on this year.
When is KSI vs Jake Paul?
As of yet, there has been no official fight date pencilled in but a bout is expected to take place in late 2023.
KSI once again called out Paul after his first-round KO victory over FaZe Temperrr at Wembley Arena in January.
But the Brit has already been vocal that he wants at least one more fight this summer before settling his feud with Paul – which he argues would be bigger than Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia.
KSI’s manager recently revealed on Twitter that negotiations have already begun with Paul’s team for the pair to fight towards the end of the year.
KSI has told talkSPORT that he wants his name to be first on the bill and for the fight to happen in the UK, but he is willing to share the purse 50/50 with Paul.
Paul for his part will also be facing other opponents in 2023 before KSI, with a clash against Tommy Fury in February finally announced.
The fight with Fury includes a rematch clause if Paul loses, meaning the potential bout with KSI could be delayed further.
The 26-year-old will also be making his MMA debut at some point this year having signed a multi-year deal with PFL (Professional Fighters League).
KSI vs Jake Paul: What has been said?
When asked on talkSPORT Breakfast whether he was ‘the man’ to end Jake’s six-fight winning streak in the paid ranks, KSI replied: “Yes, 100 per cent, I am the man.
“That’s the reason I came back and through every fight that I do, you will see that I’m ‘that guy’!
“I really, really love this whole boxing scene, it gives me purpose, it’s my passion right now.
“So, I just want to keep doing what I’m doing and eventually get to Jake Paul and knock him out.”
