WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) has recalled Triple H giving “one hell of a pep talk” to two stars at WrestleMania 40.
While Triple H has officially been the company’s Chief Content Officer since July 2022, WrestleMania 40 was billed as the beginning of the Triple H era.
One star who returned for the April supershow was Bully Ray, who was the guest referee for a Philadelphia Street Fight between the Final Testament and Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray stated that he heard Triple H encourage Akam and Rezar of the Authors of Pain and the Final Testament to prove themselves to him.
Recalling the moment, Bully Ray said:
“I watched (Triple H) go up to AOP and give them one hell of a pep talk. Basically, (he was) telling them, ‘Force me to push you.’
“I watched him go up to them and try to get into them, and basically say, ‘Give me a reason. Go out there. Steal the show. Do something.’”
The Authors of Pain have been regularly featured on WWE TV since WrestleMania, notably competing for the NXT Tag Team Championship at the April 30 Spring Breakin’ special.
They last wrestled on the June 3 edition of Raw, defeating Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston following distractions from their Final Testament teammates.
