Vince Carter said Julius Erving was his athletic idol and having his jersey retired next to the former Nets star’s would be a dream come true.
That dream will become a reality on Jan. 25, when the Nets retire Carter’s jersey during their game against the Heat.
“It’s truly an honor for me and my family to see number 15 go up into the rafters,” Carter told The Post.
“It’s a dream come true knowing that it will sit next to my childhood hero Dr J. I’m forever grateful to the Nets organization for this great honor.”
