Derrick Lewis has confirmed he is in talks with the WWE regarding a stunning crossover appearance in the future.
And the UFC legend has even stated he has picked out his finishing move – Rikishi’s iconic ‘Stinkface’.
Lewis made the announcement ahead of his clash with Brazilian heavyweight Rodrigo Nascimento this weekend.
The 39-year-old, who holds the UFC knockout record with 14 stoppages, is planning to make waves inside the squared circle.
Speaking during his post-fight press conference, he was asked about the possibility of featuring at a WWE pay-per-view event in the near future.
To which he said: “Yeah, we are actually in talks right now and we’ve been talking for a few months now.
“I was supposed to go down there in February to check everything out.”
And Lewis then declared that Rikishi’s ‘Stinkface’ move, where he humiliated opponents by rubbing his buttocks on their face, would be his finisher.
Lewis, known for stripping in the octagon following his victories, joked: “It had to be something like Rikishi.
“You might see it man, somehow I like taking off my shorts, so we might see something like that.”
MMA fighters and wrestlers have long enjoyed successful careers in both fields, with Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Bobby Lashley all impressing.
Though the less said for CM Punk is for the better as he failed to win any of his two UFC fights in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
But few make the transition during their MMA career, with Rousey becoming a trailblazer following her sporadic WWE appearances between 2014-17.
She eventually linked up full-time with the wrestling promotion in 2018, where she won three titles before departing last year.
Though WWE fans may have to wait for a while to see Lewis challenging for belts as he only signed a fresh eight-fight deal with the UFC in October.
