Tyson Fury has posted a message on social media ahead of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday.
On September 8, Her Majesty passed away at age 96, ending an historic 70-year reign as sovereign.
For the ten days since, the United Kingdom has been in a mourning period, which will conclude with Monday’s funeral.
WBC heavyweight champion Fury paid tribute to Her Majesty following her passing and left flowers at the gates of Buckingham Palace last week.
Now, he has returned to social media after a break and said: “Hey guys, it’s the Queen’s funeral today.
“I’ve been off social media for the past ten days, mourning, in respect for our Queen who’s died.
“I’ve not posted nothing, not been interested in anything else to be fair.
“I hope all the funeral goes well, my condolences to the full family.
“May she rest in heaven for eternity, in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.”
When he visited Buckingham Palace with his wife Paris last week, Fury opted not to publicise his tribute on social media.
Instead, it appears that the images emerged via anonymous accounts on Twitter, seemingly belonging to a member of the public who photographed them as they left their flowers.
Tyson and Paris also left a written message which read: “To our Queen. Great may your bed be in Heaven. Love from Tyson and Paris xx Gypsy King x.”
Fury’s time of silence came midway through negotiations for him to have a potential super-fight with Anthony Joshua this year.
On the day of the Queen’s passing, the Gypsy King had given his rival a 24-hour deadline to respond to his offer for a bout on December 3.
This all went quiet when the news broke.
AJ’s team have since confirmed that they’ve accepted the deal though, and the two parties are now at contract stages, attempting to finalise the fight.
