Zhilei Zhang has outweighed Deontay Wilder by nearly five stone.
Wilder and Zhang stepped on the scales for their high-stakes heavyweight showdown, with the loser set to face a crossroads as to whether to retire from the sport.
Incredibly, the Chinese star stepped on the scales at a mammoth 282.8lbs, compared to Wilder who weighed in at a much less 214.6lbs.
It will see a difference of over four stone [68lbs] between the heavyweights, but it is likely to be fine margins in the squared circle.
A titanic clash is set to unfold on the 5 vs 5 bill as part of the tournament between Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, in which Zhang will be looking to use his added weight to physically impose himself on his rival.
It is a tough contest for both the heavy-handed stars, who are both looking to bounce back from tough defeats to Joseph Parker.
Zhang came in at 290lbs for his defeat to Parker but vowed to come in nearer a record 300lbs mark for a career-high, although he fell slightly short.
Meanwhile, Wilder came in at a much leaner 213lbs against the New Zealander and will be much lighter than Zhang on the night, which will pose a different problem.
‘Big Bang’ fought in just March, but needs a win to prevent his career from tailing off at the age of 40.
Wilder can still be a big player in the division, and could set up some huge fights in the world title mix if he returns with a statement win.
He could even face Anthony Joshua, who is awaiting news of a potential opponent for his planned September outing at Wembley Stadium.
But the ‘Bronze Bomber’ has suggested it could well be his last hoorah if he is beaten by his far heavier rival.
“I’ve had a successful career and this is a do or die moment for me,” Wilder told Seconds Out.
“I don’t think the heavyweight division is exciting without Deontay Wilder in it but come Saturday night we will see.
“Will I prevail? Will I succeed? Who knows? But Saturday night is the true answer and we are going to see.
“This could be the end of the career, this could be the final farewell of Deontay Wilder if I lose.
“If I win, of course, I go on to bigger and better things.”
