The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers series has been excellent. These two Atlantic Division clubs are building on their rivalry, and there have been some spectacular on-ice moments because of it.
And along with the great play on the ice, these two clubs have also given hockey fans some eye-catching comments off the ice.
Let’s look at the top comments and moments of the Bruins and Panthers series now.
Montour Pretends to Lick Marchand
Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour has had a strong series against the Bruins. In five games, the right-shot defender has two goals and five points. While Montour’s play has been great, his most memorable moment came after the play.

After scoring a shorthanded goal in Game 2 to give the Panthers a 6-1 lead, Montour added insult to injury by screaming in Marchand’s face.

From there, he trolled Marchand by pretending to lick him. Marchand, of course, infamously licked multiple opponents during the late 2010s before getting a warning from the NHL to stop.

Tkachuk and Pastrnak Drop the Gloves
David Pastrnak is not known for being a physical player, but that did not stop him from dropping the gloves with Panthers agitator Matthew Tkachuk in Game 2. With the Bruins being blown out, Pastrnak agreed to fight Tkachuk to send a message.

Seeing two superstars fight was certainly one of the top highlights from this series. While Tkachuk clearly won the fight, Pastrnak deserves a tip of the hat for standing up for his teammates.

Montgomery Loses It After Lohrei Penalty
Bruins coach Jim Montgomery went viral for his antics during Game 5. When Mason Lohrei received a hooking penalty, Montgomery made diving gestures and then jumped back as he felt that Eetu Luostarinen dove on the play.

Seeing Montgomery’s reaction naturally got the attention of hockey fans. How could it not? You don’t often see coaches get that animated.
Maroon Calls Out Bennett
Sam Bennett has been the subject of controversy during this series. He notably injured Marchand with a high hit during Game 3.
While Bruins tough guy Pat Maroon has not fought Bennett in response to the play, he shared that he has tried to.
“I’m sure everyone’s wondering why I haven’t done anything,” Maroon told reporters on Monday. “I’ll sit here and say it’s not like I haven’t tried or that I don’t want to do anything. I love my captain. I love the guys. I think, trust me, it’s a tough business, and everyone’s looking at me to do something. And, unfortunately, I try. I am trying.”
"We gotta win a f*****g hockey game."

Maurice’s Game 5 Press Conference
Paul Maurice has been a star with reporters throughout this series, but he took things to a new level after Game 5.
He provided a funny answer when asked about the Panthers scoring just 11 seconds after he screamed at them.
“I just thought they needed some profanity in their life, and I brought some. I don’t excel at a lot of things in life, but f— me, am I good at that.”

This was not the only memorable quote from Maurice, as he also had some fun with reporters regarding Marchand.
“There’ll be 18,000 cameras on the morning skate just to see how many sips of the water bottle Brad Marchand takes,” he said. “That’s gonna be some high-end investigative journalism. Guys, go home and get a nap because you got some s— to do in the couple days.”
