There are just two individual tournaments left to go on the LIV Tour this season and those at the top of the campaign leaderboard will be looking to boost their chances at Greenbrier in West Virginia this week before next month’s final get-together in Chicago.
Favourite Jon Rahm finally claimed his first LIV victory at the JCB Golf & Country Club in Staffordshire in the last tournament, but the Spaniard has suffered the hammer blow of throwing a four-shot lead away in the final eight holes of the Olympic competition, so it will be interesting to see how he recovers.
US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau will fancy his chances of another success after he carded a final round of 58 at this venue 12 months ago, while Chile’s Joaquin Niemann remains the man they all have to catch on the leaderboard.

LIV Greenbrier tips
- Joaquin Niemann to win LIV Greenbrier @ 8/1
- Paul Casey to win LIV Greenbrier @ 22/1
- Marc Leishman to win LIV Greenbrier @ 45/1
Niemann looks ready to assert his authority
Joaquin Niemann has led the LIV standings since he won two of the first three tournaments of the year at Mayakoba and Jeddah and he looks unlikely to surrender his stranglehold now.
His ninth at Le Golf National was a commendable performance and he has been third or better in three of his last six LIV gatherings, so he has not rested on his laurels.
Niemann also benefits from great Greenbrier memories as he won A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier on the PGA Tour by six shots in 2019, when he shot a second-round 62 and posted a final 64.
He could have won the tournament the previous year when he shot a third-round 72 which meant he could only finish fifth, but he should be able to press home his advantage with just one regular tournament to go after this one.
Casey moving in the right direction
Paul Casey has been hampered by a few putting issues this year, but he seems to have got his act together on the greens and should be encouraged by top-ten finishes in three of his last four tournaments.
He was fifth at the JCB last time and that performance came shortly after two ninth-placed finishes at Houston and Nashville, so there is a strong chance the man who was second in Singapore and fourth in Miami can make his presence felt again..
Leishman can make a strong comeback
Australia’s Marc Leishman looked to be in great form when he carded a strong 68 in the opening round in Staffordshire, but he was then forced to withdraw after suffering an appendicitis.
Leishman has had a few weeks to recover from that ordeal and he had been playing solidly beforehand, finishing 18th or better in four of his previous five tournaments, so there is a decent chance he will still be able to make his presence felt.
