Golf’s major season is underway with the 2024 PGA Championship coming up in May.
This season’s PGA Championship is heading to the famous Valhalla Golf Club where both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have won the prestigious title before.
But LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka will be the defending champion this summer following his superb victory at Oak Hill last year.
Koepka eased to the title in New York, finishing two clear of Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler.
There will be plenty more storylines to be told in Kentucky this May as the best field of the year battle it out for the iconic Wanamaker Trophy.

Valhalla will play to a par 72 and be a maximum of 7,458 yards in length.
Jose Maria Olazabal and Michael Block, a club professional who starred at Oak Hill last year, hold the course record at 63.
This is the fourth PGA Championship at Valhalla. Mark Brooks won in 1996, Woods in 2000 and McIlroy in 2014. It also hosted the Ryder Cup in 2008.
The course is wrapped around Floyds Fork river which comes into play on several holes while the par 5 18th ‘Gahm Over’ is a classic major finishing hole.
The course has a number of famous hole names including ‘Thor’s Hammer’, ‘Short ‘n Sweet’ and ‘No Mercy’.
PGA Championship 2024: Field and tee times
The field will be made up of 156 players before the cut on Friday night.
The PGA Championship is regarded as having the strongest field of the year as it invites twenty PGA club or teaching professionals rather than amateurs like the other majors.
Defending champion Koepka will head up the LIV Golf contingent which will also include Cameron Smith, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau among others.
Jordan Spieth needs glory at Valhalla to complete his career Grand Slam while local boy Justin Thomas will be eyeing his third PGA Championship.
Woods is expected to tee it up but that will depend on his fitness.
The full field will be confirmed soon.
PGA Championship 2024: What has been said?
After an opening 72 at Oak Hill, Koepka carded rounds of 66 twice and 67 on the final day to secure his fifth major in brilliant fashion.
It was a warning to world golf at LIV players are still very much in the picture at the biggest events and Koepka remains eager for more.
He said: “This one is definitely special. I think this one is probably the most meaningful of them all with everything that’s gone on, all the crazy stuff over the last few years.
“I’m not sure I even dreamed of it as a kid, winning this many.
“No one knows all the pain. There’s a lot of times where I just couldn’t even bend my knee. This win felt good. It felt really good.
“I’m back to having a chance pretty much every time I tee it up. So, I’m very pleased with the way I’m playing.
“I like the way I’ve worked with everybody. It’s been a lot of fun.”
