Boxing fans are calling the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol promotional video the best trailer of the year.
The pair are set to clash on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a highly-anticipated bout for the undisputed light heavyweight championship.
The rivalry between the best two light-heavyweights in the world dates back to both men’s amateur careers.
So, it is only fitting that the trailer for their fight is just as intense and explosive as what we can expect when they finally meet in the ring.
The unified WBC, WBO and IBF champion Beterbiev features in the movie-like promo alongside WBA champ Bivol.
The trailer, entitled ‘IV Crowns Showdown’ and presented by Riyadh Season, depicts the journeys of Beterbiev and Bivol as warriors, fighting their way to eventually reach the top of a mountain.
After we are told, ‘legend tells at the peak of the highest mountain in all the lands’, both men appear in a Game of Thrones like scene at the start of the trailer.
They are in what looks to be a battlefield surrounded by others who are wearing armour and geared with swords as well as other ancient weapons.
As the trailer goes on, we are shown both fighters embarking on their own individual journeys that includes Bivol slaying a bear and Beterbiev fighting an army of men.
Then, at the end of the trailer, the two men finally meet on a snowy mountain range.
They proceed to battle each other before we see the swords transition into boxing gloves, leaving both men rapidly shadow boxing as if they are clashing in the ring.
One fan wrote: “What a promo, fitting for the fight of the year.”
Another posted: “Now that’s a great promo trailer! Best one so far.”
A third added: “I want to see the movie just as bad as the fight,” while another said: “Trailer so good, they might as well make a movie.”
A torn meniscus for Beterbiev meant the pair’s original bout, which was scheduled to take place in June, had to be postponed.
In the meantime, Bivol successfully defended his title against Malik Zinad, finishing his opponent in six rounds.
He is currently a slight favourite in the bookmakers to win the bout.
The undercard is also stacked as Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke fight it out again in a blockbuster all-British heavyweight title rematch.
Chris Eubank Jr also returns to face Kamil Szeremeta and Ben Whittaker, who won Silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics continues his journey against Liam Cameron in another all-British affair.
