Simone Biles has become the second woman to ever win gold in the artistic gymnastics vault twice at the Olympics.
The 27-year-old, who is regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all-time, has also taken her gold medal tally to three at the Paris Games.
Biles averaged an excellent combined score of 15.300 from her two vaults, both of which she landed in stunning fashion to steer her in front.
And once her Team USA co-star Jade Carey completed her last attempt, Biles’ latest Olympics victory was confirmed.
She has joined former Czech Republic gymnast Vera Caslavska as one of just two women to win the vault at two different Olympic games.

Caslavska claimed back-to-back titles at Tokyo 1964 and Mexico City 1968, with her overall Olympic gold medal tally sitting at seven.
Biles first won the vault at Rio 2016 and has now done the same eight years later at Paris 2024 to add to her incredible list of accolades.
Tokyo 2020 champion Rebeca Andrade took the silver medal with her score of 14.966.
The Brazilian has now scooped three medals in Paris, having also picked up the silver in the all-around and bronze in the team.
And Carey won the bronze in the vault after scoring 14.466 – adding to the gold medals she picked up in the floor exercise at Tokyo 2020 and team event at Paris.
Biles’ latest victory follows her recent triumphs in both of the team and individual all-around events at the Bercy Arena.
Her overall medal tally across three Olympic games now stands at an incredible ten, with seven of those being gold.
Biles could be set for even more success in the coming days though as she prepares for the balance beam and floor finals on Monday.
Should she medal in each event, she will overtake Caslavska’s tally of 11 overall Olympic medals and reach 12.
For Biles to become the most decorated female gymnast of all-time, she will need to surpass the 18 medals that Larisa Latynina won for the Soviet Union.
It’s a feat that looks tough to beat on paper.
But considering how well she has performed in Paris, Biles could certainly claim such a legendary status in the future.
