Varun Chakravarthy, the Indian mystery spinner, has etched his name in the annals of cricket history by becoming the first Indian bowler to achieve an incredible feat in a single bilateral T20I series. This remarkable achievement came during the third T20I against South Africa on November 13, 2024, at SuperSport Park, Centurion. Previously, the record was jointly held by renowned spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi.

Prior to Chakravarthy, Ashwin set a high standard in 2016 with nine wickets against Sri Lanka at an impressive economy rate of 3.18, while Bishnoi equalled this feat last year against Australia.
