Rio Ferdinand had the perfect response to Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, who trolled him over their Champions League qualification.
Villa officially secured their place in Europe’s top competition after Tottenham lost to Man City on Tuesday night.
It has been a brilliant season for Unai Emery with a top four place confirmed and they also reached the semi-final of the Europa Conference League.
Luiz was quick to send a message to Manchester United legend Ferdinand.
Ferdinand had started the beef with the Villa star after they lost 2-1 to the Red Devils.
He wrote: “U ok?” And also posted a picture of Luiz celebrating.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, after Villa secured Champions League, he said: “I just came here to find out if @rioferdy5 is okay?”
In response, Ferdinand posted a picture of himself with the Champions League trophy.
He added: “Congrats @dgoficial… Champions League football thoroughly deserved next season.”
Ferdinand won the Champions League in 2008, to go alongside his six Premier League titles.
Villa were holding their end of season awards on Tuesday night when the result from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium came in.
Manager Unai Emery addressed the crowd and said: “It’s a very special day. It’s our dream.
“We were thinking at the start of the season it was our first objective and the most difficult because there were seven teams more contenders than us to be there. We focused on the Premier League strongly.
“It is the worst players when you have players behind you injured but they were always in our mind.”
