For the 100th time, a Red Bull will lead a Formula 1 Grand Prix to green as Max Verstappen secured pole for the Chinese Grand Prix.
A blistering lap banked a 37th career pole for the world champion as he became the first driver in the 21st century to start the first five races of the year from pole – Mika Hakkinen in 1999 was the last, and broke his own record of five straight poles, a run stretching back to Abu Dhabi last season.
He joined by Sergio Perez on the front-row, but the results are provisional after Aston Martin launched a protest.
