Formula 1’s Sprint format made its first appearance of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend.
However, on this occasion, it had a somewhat different look compared to previous seasons after undergoing a format change.
Sprint qualifying was pushed back to Friday ahead of the sprint race itself on Saturday which preceded qualifying for the grand prix.
An additional change saw parc fermé conditions lifted after the sprint race to allow teams to make necessary changes to their cars ahead of traditional qualifying and Sunday’s main event.
