The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has warned AEW about having Nyla Rose compete against cisgender women in the state.
According to minutes from the OSAC’s meeting from January, the commission voted to warn AEW about having Rose, who is a transgender woman, wrestle cisgender women in the state or “there will be punitive action made against them.”
The promotion held its first-ever event in the state on December 20 for a Dynamite/Rampage event. Rose defeated Alejandra Lion in a match that aired on ROH television.
OSAC Administrator Jim Miller was informed by a local promotion that AEW had used Rose in a match on the card. Miller said that he called AEW, telling them that what they had done was a violation of the OSAC rules. Mike Bower, the chairman of the OSAC, noted that wrestling applications in the state do not ask if someone has had gender reassignment surgery, while boxing, kickboxing, and MMA applications do. Bower recommended that they update the wrestling application to include this question.
Rose responded on X:
