Houston Texans to win Super Bowl LIX – 16/1
The buzz around the Houston Texans is growing with a young exciting team.
Quarterback CJ Stroud’s impact in Houston was huge last season. As a rookie he was outstanding as the Texans went from last to first in the AFC South, and were only one game away from the AFC Championship. He is a legitimate contender to be MVP this season and have a similar record to Patrick Mahomes’ first season as starter on the Chiefs.
His offense is packed with talent and have the potential to be dominating. They have tremendous options at wide receiver in Tank Dell and Nico Collins and have since added Stefan Diggs from Buffalo who has history of being a big game player. His protection comes from a likely future hall of famer Laremy Tunsil and an improving offensive line.
Head Coach DeMeco Ryans will want to see more from his defence this year to not be so reliant on the magic Stroud and the offence can conjure. They were a middling pack last season, however they made interesting additions over the summer and will have more experience in Ryans’ second year.
Cincinnati Bengals to win Super Bowl LIX – 14/1
Cincinnati’s chances of real success last season was derailed by the injuries their leader Joe Burrow faced. In pre-season he struggled with a calf injury which hampered his early performances, and then in week 10 was ruled out of the season with a wrist injury. He is back seemingly injury free and the Bengals should be much better with his return.
It would be preferable for the Bengals if they sorted out their elite wide receiver Jamarr Chase’s contract extension before the season begins. When paired with Tee Higgins the Bengals can be one of the best 1-2 WR’s in the league.
The odd benefit of Burrow’s injury struggles is they finished last in the AFC North and now will have a last placed schedule in 2024, this means they will have 3 games against other teams that finished last in their respective divisions. For a team which is very stacked this should give a real advantage over their divisional rival Ravens who will face the winners of each division.
Green Bay Packers to win Super Bowl LIX– 18/1
Despite being in arguably the toughest division in the NFL, there is a ton of things to like about the Green Bay Packers this season. The Packers have been a consistent outfit under Head Coach Matt LeFleur and will look to take a step forward from their close divisional round playoff defeat to the 49ers last year.
Jordan Love was one of the best Quarterbacks in the league in the second half of the 2023 season, and was fantastic in a playoff victory against the Dallas Cowboys. He will be assisted by an offence which has quietly become a powerhouse, with lots of Wide Receiver options. If Love continues to evolve as a player the Packers will be a far better option than their 18/1 price offers.
