A new announcer for WWE SmackDown has been confirmed in the form of another call-up to the main roster from NXT.
Several wrestlers were moved from NXT to the main roster during the 2024 WWE Draft, including former champions Ilja Dragunov and Lyra Valkyria.
WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels confirmed one more move, announcing that ring announcer Alicia Taylor will be the new ring announcer for SmackDown.
Michaels shared a video to Twitter showing NXT personnel wishing Taylor well backstage, which you can watch below.
Thanking Taylor for her work on NXT, Michaels captioned the post:
An irreplaceable part of the soundtrack for countless unforgettable #WWENXT moments, and now she’s bringing her unending passion to #SmackDown.
@AliciaTaylorNXT, thank you for everything you’ve brought to the #NXTUniverse… and congratulations on your next step! #WeAreNXT
Taylor signed with WWE in 2018, initially as a post-show host for the NXT brand. She went on to become a ring announcer for NXT, ahead of her move to SmackDown.
As previously reported, Mike Rome, who was previously serving as SmackDown ring announcer before this move, is set to move back to NXT.
