The Nets are going back to Cali — at least for training camp.
Brooklyn — which will play the Clippers in the preseason — will hold part of the camp in Southern California, as it did three years ago.
That Oct. 8 tilt will be at Frontwave Arena, home of the Clippers’ G League San Diego affiliate.
The last time the Nets held camp in SoCal was back in 2021 when the Big Three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden had their initial camp together.
The Nets had started camp at HSS Training Center in Brooklyn, moved on to La Jolla — near the home of team owner Joe Tsai — and returned to New York with Irving barred from playing or even practicing at home due to his refusal to adhere to the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Nets point guard Dennis Schroder — who became the first-ever black Olympic flag bearer for Germany at Friday’s Opening Ceremonies in Paris — will lead his country against Japan in its opener on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET.
Schroder was the MVP of the FIBA World Cup, leading Germany to gold last year.
LeBron James — the flag bearer for the U.S. along with Coco Gauff — will lead Team USA in Sunday’s 11:15 a.m. opener vs. Serbia and Nets stash picks Nikola Milutinov and Vanja Markinovic.
