Michael Olise’s move from Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich is a done deal, talkSPORT understands.
The German giants have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign the talented 22-year-old attacker, who will move in a transfer worth £60million.
A release clause in Olise’s contract at Selhurst Park means he was available for that fee this summer.
It is has seen Palace with no other option but to cash-in on one of their star trio.
The Eagles hoping to hold onto the other two gems in their squad, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, who has been hailed as England’s best player at Euro 2024 so far.
It is understood Palace decided at the beginning of the summer they would refuse to sell either of those three players for less than £60m.
Chelsea were also keen on Olise, but Enzo Maresca’s side decided to withdraw from the move due to the finances being deemed to be out of reach.
Manchester United had also been linked with an interest in the London-born France youth international, but they were also unlikely to fork out the £60m for the player.
Olise previously spent time at the Chelsea academy from 2009 to 2016 before being signed by Manchester City.
He didn’t make his professional debut until a move to Reading a year later where he lit up the Championship.
The 22-year-old has since become a Premier League regular at Selhurst Park, with his ten goals during the 2023/24 season his best yet.
It means Chelsea will now look for other attacking options, but will also use a portion of their summer budget to reward some of their existing players.
It’s understood the west London side are looking to add two attacking players to their squad this summer and are confident an alternative to Olise will be wrapped up.
talkSPORT understands Chelsea are also in talks with Aston Villa for 20-year-old Colombian striker Jhon Duran.
