So, in the end, the solid Sevilla start wasn’t enough to see them pick up points at the Etihad. Silly losses of possession at the back are a risk factor when you play the way Sampaoli wants and a team like Manchester City are always going to know how to pick you off.

Definitely some green shoots for Sevilla and Sampaoli must be pleased with how his team created danger, especially in the first half. The Derbi is up next for them on Sunday, so all focus must now switch to that.
