Kate Abdo is being targeted for a huge Misfits boxing debut this year.
Abdo is a gifted sports presenter, who has shot to fame for her incredible presenting skills in boxing, football and various other disciplines.
Footage has emerged of the 42-year-old crashing the pads in boxing training, alongside squared circle mentor and partner Malik Scott.
Rumours have intensified that Abdo could make her maiden boxing appearance, with KSI’s promotion Misfits Boxing a potential destination.
KSI’s manager and Misfits guru Mams Taylor has offered Abdo a slot on a card in October, but is awaiting a final response.
“Malik and I have spoken about it,” he told talkSPORT.com.
“I’d love to have her fight in October in the UK.
“As I say I have spoken to Malik about it, and I’m waiting for him to get back to me regarding a timeline.
“It will happen sooner or later, but my aim is for it to happen this year.”
Abdo seriously impressed fans in training footage, so the desire is clear for the broadcasting figure to lace up her gloves.
Scott would likely corner his partner, which could be a key advantage given his experience coaching heavyweight Deontay Wilder.
An opponent is yet to be discussed, with options relatively limited in the female division of the Misfits Boxing stable.
The multi-lingual star is yet to have time to commit to full training camp, given her commitment to the football season including presenting the UEFA Champions League.
When questioned on if she had any targets to touch gloves with, Abdo admitted she’d fight whatever opponent was placed on the table.
She said: “Why not? Listen, I’d fight anybody. I’d fight anybody they put in front of me.
“I just haven’t watched a bunch of Misfits so I just don’t know honestly what’s a fight that makes sense.
“But yeah, if I got to do a couple of months in camp in LA before I had to fight, yeah I’d be down.”
