The 2024 NFL season kicks off with one of the biggest matches of the season as two-time defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs take on the Baltimore Ravens, in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game.

The Chiefs booked their place in their second Super Bowl in a row by coming out on top against the Ravens, winning 17-10 in the Championship game to set up their overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas back in February.

As is customary, the defending Super Bowl champions will kick off the new season with a home fixture, though in each of the last two Kick Off games, the home side have fallen to defeat, with the Chiefs falling 21-20 to the Detroit Lions last year in a thriller.

The Chiefs and the Ravens are expected to be competing late into the post-season once again this time around and we could be saying an early dress rehearsal of another AFC Championship match at the back end of the season.

Both teams will be led by their star quarterbacks, with Patrick Mahomes leading the offense for the Chiefs, who are looking to become the first team to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls, lining up against Lamar Jackson of the Ravens.

The two global stars have faced each other on five occasions before, with Mahomes, a three time Super Bowl champion, coming out on top in four of those matches against Jackson, who is still waiting for his first Super Bowl appearance.
