Darren Till’s offer to replace Mike Tyson was left on deaf ears by Jake Paul.
Paul was set to face heavyweight legend Tyson on July 20, but the professional bout was cancelled as the 57-year-old suffered an ‘ulcer flare up’ which prevented him from training.
The bout has now been rescheduled for November 15, with ex-UFC fighter Till still set to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his boxing debut on the undercard.
Till had offered to step in to face Paul if Tyson was unable to prove his fitness, teasing the showdown with a poster on social media.
But he has revealed in an interview with talkSPORT Fight Night that it is still in on his mind despite it coming to nothing.
“Obviously I mean I’m not going to sit here and say I wouldn’t fight him,” Till said.
“You fight Jake Paul you earn a lot of money and this is prize fighting.
“The Jake Paul fight, he called me out when the Chavez Jr fight got made.
“Logan Paul did last year as well. They both called me out I didn’t call them out.
“So I thought okay let’s put your money where your mouth is, I am fresh, I am 31 and I am your size.
“Let’s do it and tumbleweed suddenly I didn’t hear anything back.”
Till has feuded with Paul across several years insisting he would get the better of the YouTube star if they touched gloves.
The former UFC contender is currently walking around at 190lbs, so could well be in touching distance if he was to face Paul.
It is unlikely the ‘Problem Child’ will come up against Till, given he harbours ambitions of a sequel with Tommy Fury and a showdown with bitter rival KSI.
For now, Paul will be focused on legend Tyson who will be 58 when he steps in the ring with the influencer.
He is expected to return to training in the coming weeks, and will no doubt release more footage in a bid to build the hype once again.
