Tyson Fury belted out a rendition of Three Lions on Friday as he declared his support for England ahead of the knockout stages of the World Cup in Qatar.
On the eve of his trilogy fight with Derek Chisora, the WBC heavyweight world champion popped by the News Building in London Bridge and offered his well wishes to Gareth Southgate’s side.
England comfortably made it through Group B, finishing top with seven points.
This has secured a round of 16 showdown against Senegal with a quarter-final place at stake.
On Friday, Fury posed for pictures with cardboard cut-outs of manager Gareth Southgate and captain Harry Kane.
He then roared, ‘it’s coming home, it’s coming home,’ before attempting to hand a replica World Cup trophy to the cardboard England boss.
The match against Senegal will take place on Sunday, 24 hours after Fury fights Chisora.
He intends to be able to watch the game with his belt still in his hands, and then may even fly out to Qatar if England’s journey in the competition continues.
“I will get back to Morecambe in plenty of time to watch it on Sunday, as long as I am in one piece,” Fury said.
“If England get through then I will be heading out to Qatar, for sure.
“I wouldn’t be rushing out for a group game because I expected us to get through that s***.
“But if they get to the semis or final, then I will be on my way to Qatar.”
Speaking to SunSport, Fury vowed to defy the alcohol ban in Qatar and bring beer into the stadium.
Fury, who bought €1,000 rounds while partying with England fans at Euro 2016, declared: “I’ll put it up my top. Who’s going to stop me?
“I’m not an alcoholic, I’m just a devil for the drink.
“I’m 100 per cent going to get messy with the fans. I’m known for that.
“I’m going to sneak a few cases in my suitcase. They can have anything they want – whatever gets them going.
“Think of Euro 2016 when I went to Nice and bought 200 fans Jägerbombs.”
Fury also plans to meet the England players and had this message for them as they prepare to take on Senegal.
He said: “I would tell them forget about what you’re thinking, just go and f***ing win.”
“You’ve done all the hard work to get into this position so just go out there and enjoy the game.”
Fury returns to the boxing ring on Saturday night for a trilogy fight with Derek Chisora, having twice beaten the veteran heavyweight before.
The 34-year-old had claimed to be retired after beating Dillian Whyte in April, an explained his motivation behind the U-turn.
“My real reason is I need to keep myself well in my mind,” he said.
“When you come across someone in their early or mid-20s who is fighting because they need to get off the streets and it’s do or die, then you have a problem.
“There’s nothing that I can achieve, I’ve won every belt there is to win.
“I’ve not got any thoughts. I’ve fought for a lot of things in my life.
“I suppose fighting for sanity is every bit as good as fighting for all that s**t.”
