Kevin De Bruyne has sensationally opened the door to a switch to Saudi Arabia as he reflected on the ‘incredible amounts of money‘.
The Manchester City star has opened up on his future, with the playmaker having just a year left to run on his current contract.
talkSPORT reported last year how Saudi Pro League chiefs had eyed up the Belgium international as one of their top targets.
And we also told you in April how the ex-Chelsea man remains a high priority with the Saudi’s looking to continue bolstering the profile of their league.
City though are believed to be relaxed about his situation this window, and would demand around £100m to consider parting ways with the midfielder.
It is understood that Saudi chiefs feel they have more chance at signing De Bruyne, who also has interest from the MLS, next year on a free transfer.
And the six-time Premier League winner has now dropped his biggest hint yet that he could soon swap England for the Middle East.
In an interview with Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, he declared he is ‘open’ to a potential switch.
He said: “For [wife] Michele, an exotic adventure is okay. These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family.
“At my age you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.
“If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money.
“Before that I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet.
“Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment I haven’t had to think about that yet.
“I still have one year left on my contract, so I have to think about what could happen. My eldest is now eight-years-old and knows nothing but England.
“He also asks how long I will play for City. Once the moment comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way.”
In an injury-hit campaign which saw him miss five months of action due to a hamstring injury, De Bruyne still managed to chip in with six goals and 18 assists in 26 matches in all competitions.
Since he made his return to the starting XI, City never lost in the top-flight, as they pipped Arsenal to their sixth league championship in the last seven years.
