Tony Bellew unexpectedly interrupted talkSPORT’s Soccer Aid livestream to give an earful to Andy Goldstein.
Bellew joined fellow celebrities and ex-sportsmen at Champneys Tring for a training session on Thursday ahead of the Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024 match this weekend.
talkSPORT Drive’s Darren Bent and Goldstein were on the ground to interview players and report on the day’s events.
One of those special guests was former Chelsea star Gary Cahill, who is representing England in Sunday’s match.
However, their interview was gatecrashed by former WBC cruiserweight champion Bellew, who playfully confronted Goldstein over his recent comments about him on the radio.
As Bellew entered the frame from behind the talkSPORT desk, Goldstein turned and said: “I don’t know if you can hear this.
“Tony we’re going to go to a break will you join us in a minute?”
But Bellew was having none of it. “No, you can forget the breaks. Goldstein bottled it, Goldstein absolutely swallowed it,” he said as he squared up to the popular radio pundit.
“I have to say, I’m so nervous,” exclaimed Goldstein with a big grin on his face. “I’m not going to argue with you.”
Bellew was then handed a head set as he continued his rant with his arm around Goldstein: “On the radio, he’s been giving it the biggun… he keeps going on how I should answer the phone when I’m with the wife and kids.
“Well, when I am in the car with the wife and kids I do answer the phone and it’s usually to some small little weak imbecile called Goldstein.
“And now that I’ve got close to him it’s funny. I expected him to be brave but he’s just swallowed it…
“I have been abused on the radio by a man who isn’t even from the place where he supports (Manchester United).
“A glory-hunting football fan he is. He jumped on the ship when the times were getting good.”
Goldstein joked in response: “I am a coward. If there’s a fight, I’m taking trainers to it so I can run away quicker.
“I agree with everything you’re going to say.
“You can have my wife, kids, money, whatever you want!”
Bellew will line up for the Soccer Aid World XI FC alongside fellow boxing star Tommy Fury, while Matchroom Chairman Eddie Hearn will play against them for England.
It will be a remarkable crossover event as always with the three boxing personalities set to share the pitch with several football legends.
Chelsea icon Eden Hazard and Brazillian great Roberto Carlos will join Bellew and Fury for World XI.
And so will Blues trio Petr Cech, Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel.
As for England, they will have the likes of Theo Walcott, Joe Cole, David James, Jermaine Defoe, and Jack Wilshere playing with Hearn.
