Derek Chisora has dismissed talk that he will retire from boxing following defeat to Tyson Fury, the 13th of his professional career.
The heavyweight veteran was beaten for a third time by Fury on Saturday night, having also been beaten by unanimous decision back in 2011 and being stopped in their rematch in 2014.
After the fight, considering Chisora is 38-years-old and has been boxing professionally since 2007, he was inevitably asked about retirement.
“No, not yet. Not yet,” Chisora told SecondsOut.
“F*** that s***… I’m gonna take time out, chill, relax and see how I feel… I’m not going out like this.”
Meanwhile, Chisora’s opponent from Saturday night, advised ‘Del Boy’ to call it a day and retire from boxing.
“Derek will have to make his own decisions and he’s been in this game long enough,” Fury said at the post-fight press conference.
“He’s a veteran and he will make the right decisions, the best for him and his family, but for me, I’d love to see him retire, but still stay in the sport because he’s a a legend of this game in British boxing, he’s like a folk hero.
“Who wouldn’t want to tune in to Derek’s fights? Always entertaining, always gives his all and he’s definitely a good fighting man for sure.”
