Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury’s outburst during his interview with True Geordie was just simply him having a ‘bad day’.
It was unlike the cheerful and chatty Fury we are used to seeing when he sat down with YouTuber, True Geordie, for a chat about his upcoming fight with Derek Chisora.
Things were going reasonably well until True Geordie asked about his the Chisora bout and the reasons for taking it.
Upon coming out of retirement, fans had been hoping for ‘The Gypsy King’ to take on Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed clash or even Anthony Joshua in a battle of Britain, but he settled on Chisora and it seems he has become fed up with the criticism about his choice.
“No matter what you say, or what people like you wanna say about Derek Chisora, he’s achieved more in boxing and in fighting than ten men like you could ever achieve,” Fury blasted as he began to become frustrated at the line of questioning.
“I’m not gonna just let you sit here and slate somebody who’s fought the best fighters of this era just because he’s lost a few fights.
“He’s done a lot in the sport and he deserves this payday. I’ll be fighting Chisora and if you don’t wanna watch it, then please don’t, and if you do, tune in.
“And if you don’t wanna buy a ticket, don’t buy a ticket. And if you do, be like the rest of the 60,000 that’s already bought tickets.
“I beg to differ with you because there’s already been 60,000 tickets sold.”
As True Geordie ended the interview, Fury then said: “I think you’re a t****r. You little t***pot.
“And I won’t be doing any more interviews with you little t***pot, bearded, bald-headed t****r. Kiss my balls, you little w***. You little s***house.”
True Geordie laughed through the insults and asked Fury if he was having issues ending the video call, to which Fury replied: “Suck a d***.”
“Well, that went well,” True Geordie told his followers.
“Have you ever been cussed out by the heavyweight champion of the world? Probably not.
“Very glad I did this one on video call because that could’ve been a painful end to my life.”
Now, promoter Hearn has reacted to Fury’s angry outburst, saying, “Tyson doesn’t really like being quizzed on things, in all honesty.
“He’s a fighter, so it’s his job to talk to the media but not like my job to talk to the media where I have to, and I have to do 30 [interviews.]
“I thought the questions were fine. They weren’t personal, he was just [asking] questions and Tyson lost his rag.
“Maybe Fury had done like three or four hours of interviews and just thought ‘f*** me I can’t be a**ed to talk to this bloke’, which is fine.
“It just looks like a weakness, and people see it as a weakness, but he’s just a human being. Sometimes you have bad days, sometimes you get pissed off.”
