Formula E has unveiled its 17-race calendar for 2024/2025 including a history-making double-header on the streets of Monaco.
Meanwhile, Miami will host an E-Prix on April 12 – the first time the all-electric championship has raced in the city since its inaugural season in 2014.
The Homestead-Miami Speedway was a well-loved fixture on the NASCAR and IndyCar calendar for decades – and the popular road course replaces Portland as Formula E’s sole US round in Season 11.
The net-zero championship also returns to a split calendar format for the first time since 2019 – with the opening round taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on December 7 2024.
This will be the first time fans will see the new Gen 3 Evo car in action. The mid generation update on the current car boasts a 0-60mph time that’s a third faster than the current F1 cars at 1.82 seconds!
Mexico returns for a ninth year at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on January 11 before a new location in Diriyah hosts its traditional February double-header on the 14/15.
Whilst the glitz and glamour of the Monaco Grand Prix usually distracts from one of the less exciting races on the Formula 1 calendar – Formula E has consistently enjoyed thrilling encounters on the streets of Monte Carlo.
It seems fitting perhaps, that the sustainability-minded series will become the first World Championship to hold two races across the same weekend in the Principality on May 3/4.
Following the sell-out success of the first Toyko E-Prix in 2024, a second race has been added on Formula E’s return visit over the weekend of May 17/18, before two races in Shanghai, China two weeks later.
Indonesia is back on the calendar after a year away with Jakarta hosting the championship on June 21st before double-header weekends in Berlin (July 12/13) and London (July 26/27) round off the season.
Round 8 of the season – due to take place on March 8 – is still to be decided, with all signs pointing to a potential visit to Thailand after Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds openly met with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin earlier this year.
There are four rounds left in the current Formula E season – with double-header weekends in Portland (June 29/30) and London (July 20/21) set to round-off another nail biting season of all-electric racing.
